One of the main goals of AMAZON PLANET is to help the local communities around us and provide them with the necesary tools to improve their quality of life. Last month (August 2011) we visited Mr. Pedro Guevara Yombato, member of the Juan Pablo Community, who lives in front of our Lodge crossing the Madre de Dios River on the other shore . In colaboration with TARICAYA ECOLOGICAL RESERVE and SENASA (National Service of Agrarian Sanitation) the Amazon Planet staff of veterinarians and our interns from Northeastern University of Boston performed the hog cholera vaccination and deparasitation of all his pigs, infants and adults, to ensure their health. Mr. Pedro's pigs are one of his main activities to support his family and we help him to keep his animals in good conditions for a better production.

Uno de los principales objetivos de AMAZON PLANET es ayudar a las comunidades locales a nuestro alrededor y proveerles las herramientas necesarias para mejorar su calidad de vida. El mes pasado (Agosto 2011) visitamos al Señor Pedro Guevara Yombato, socio de la Comunidad de Juan Pablo, que vive frente a nuestro Lodge cruzando el rio Madre de Dios en la otra orilla. En colaboracion con la RESERVA ECOLÓGICA TARICAYA y SENASA (Servicio Nacional De Sanidad Agraria), el staff de veterinarios de Amazon Planet y los estudiantes de Northeastern University de Boston realizamos la vacunación contra el Cólera Porcino y la desparasitacion a todos sus cerdos entre crías y adultos, para asegurar su buen estado de salud. Los cerdos del Sr. Pedro son una de sus principales actividades para mantener a su familia y nosotros lo ayudamos a mantenerlos en buenas condiciones para una mejor produccion.
